Back in November, all of us at The Pampa News thought of a way to aid in the fight against food insecurity in Pampa, and we decided to hold a food drive for an entire month.
But as part of the drive, we also wanted to make it festive and fun, so we also held a raffle that allowed all donors to be entered into a drawing for one of two Christmas bundles that was full of holiday goodies and gift certificates from many of our wonderful local businesses right here in Pampa.
For this being our first food drive, it was a major success and we couldn’t be happier. Throughout those few weeks, Irvin Hall from Harvest House Ministries came to the office to clear the table to make room for more, and there was always more. We hope that everything that was donated can be used by those in need.
We couldn’t have done this without all of you and to all of our raffle donors, and from the bottom of our heart, we thank you.
We hope to make this a tradition and maybe have something like this throughout the year for different holidays, because not only is it amazing to see the generousity of others, but building these bundles was a lot of fun and we would love to create more with different themes!
The winners of the Christmas bundle raffle were Wyvonne Fly and Kyle Cummings. Congratulations to the both of you and we hope you absolutely enjoy these gifts!
Again thank you to everyone that participated and donated. Because of you, there are folks who won’t have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.
