Clyde Wayne Trusty, 79, of Pampa, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, in Amarillo.
Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, October 25, 2024, at the First Methodist Church in Pampa with Rev. Ruby Moultrie, pastor of First Methodist Church in Levelland, and Rev. Jarrod Neal, pastor of First Methodist Church in Pampa, officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 PM Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the funeral home.
Clyde was born June 20, 1945, in Miami, to Clyde “Woody” and Mittie Trusty. He attended school in Lefors and graduated from Lefors High School.
Clyde joined the United States Navy in 1965, and was stationed in Hawaii, Japan, and the Philippines. During his time in the Navy, he was assigned to the USS Intrepid.
Clyde married the love of his life, Janice Nichols on August 14, 1970, they were married for 52 years until her passing on July 9, 2022.
After the military, he started working for MD Snider Trucking. Clyde then went to work for DCP Midstream until he retired.
Clyde was a member of the First Methodist Church, Pampa VFW and the Motorcycle Auxiliary for many years. After his retirement, he enjoyed going to Bill Allison Auto Sales for coffee with the coffee group for over 20 years.
Clyde loved hunting, fishing, and playing practical jokes every chance, he could. He kept and enjoyed his backyard chickens. Clyde loved his kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and he was the foundation for his family.
Clyde is preceded in death by his wife, Janice Trusty; parents, Clyde and Mittie Trusty; and brother, Woody Dal Trusty.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol Trusty, and Amy Doucette and husband Jeremy, all of Pampa; two sons, Richard Trusty and wife Tina of Indiana, and Jeff Trusty and wife Kelly of Pampa; 10 grandkids; four great-grandkids; longtime friends, Lynn Allison, Dale and Carolyn Kessel; and the Allison Coffee Group.
