Doyle Wayne Bowers, 70, formerly of Pampa, TX, passed away peacefully, November 22, 2024 in Marble Falls, TX after a battle with cancer.
No services are scheduled at this time.
His ashes will be scattered with his wife’s at their favorite rock place. Doyle and Kay were so grateful for their 43 year journey of love, joy, trials, forgiveness, peace and victory by the blood of Christ, who saves us all from the penalty of sin and gives everlasting life.
Doyle was born October 16, 1954 in Pampa where he went to school and graduated Pampa High in 1972.
Doyle married Kay Thrasher in 1977, and they began raising a family of four children in Pampa.
After 18 years of self-employment as a welder, Doyle then became a nuclear medicine technologist, working in doctors’ clinics and hospitals for 30 years. He loved to tenderly assist his patients and make them feel at ease.
Doyle was an avid rock hunter and spent countless hours collecting the treasures with his wife. It was not uncommon for them to spend three hours rock hunting on a road-side stop while traveling. Like children at play, they enjoyed as Doyle would recall, “a righteous time” in God’s creation. It was also a common occurance for Doyle to pull over on the highway to assist a critter in crossing the road safely. He brought many wild creatures home for his children to see before releasing them back into the wild. In recent years Doyle learned a trade in rock jewelry, working alongside his granddaughter.
Family and friends will miss Doyle’s sense of humor, story telling, and guitar playing. He declared that God is supreme and perfect in all his ways. Even on Doyle’s death bed, he lifted his hands in praise to the Saviour while listening to worship music and smiled when hearing hymns and scriptures.
Doyle was preceded in death by his wife Kay of 43 years, another cancer battle; his father James “Rowdy” Bowers of Pampa, and mother Patricia Kadingo of Buchanan Dam, TX.
Survivors include his brother Darrell Bowers of Houston; sister Patricia Ticala and husband Allen of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; daughter Joy Hall and husband Bryan of Lubbock; daughter Rachel Biagini of Marble Falls; daughter Amber Passini and husband Daniel of Fairview, Oklahoma; son Logan Bowers of Amarillo; thirteen grandkids: Hall grands, Ethan, Will, Sarah, Heston, Bowen, Myla, Lincoln, and Andrew; Biagini grands, Sophia, Juliana, and Gabriella; and Passini grands, Soren and Enzo.
Special thanks to all the caregivers, nurses, and friends that comforted and blessed Doyle.
Our lives on this earth are fleeting. No matter the achievements or the losses, there is only one hope in passing from this life to eternity. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9
