Kenneth Ray Hamon II

Posted

Kenneth Ray Hamon II, age 71, of Pampa, Texas, made a peaceful transition from this life into eternal rest with his Savior where he will have no more pain or suffering on Sunday, December 15, 2024, with Susie sitting at his side.

Kenneth was born on May 12, 1953, to Kenneth Ray Hamon I and Bonita Parker Hamon in Wheeler, Texas.

Kenneth spent a portion of his childhood in Wheeler, but then due to circumstances, moved to Allison to live with his grandparents, George and Avis Parker.

He graduated from Allison High School in 1971 and then after only dating Susie Hunter for about four months, they married in late 1971 and against all odds, just celebrated their 53 rd anniversary together!

Kenneth retired from Cabot Carbon Black as Special Maintenance after 30 years of dedication and hard work.

He felt the most alive when he was outdoors participating in various activities such as fishing, hunting, snorkeling or riding horses. He loved the beach and could snorkel for hours just simply exploring the majesty of the underwater world.

Kenneth has always had a very gritty, rough exterior and would even scare Matthews friends when he was younger, but once you cracked that shell, he really did have a soft and loving interior.

It seems as the older he got, the softer he was and the more vocal he became about how proud he was of Matthew and his accomplishments. One of the most important, if not the most important changes he made as he grew older - was that he built a relationship with God and began to read his Bible every day.

Those who were anticipating his arrival into the Kingdom are his son, Jamie Brandon Hamon; his parents, Kenneth and Bonita Hamon; a sister, Alana Hamon; grandparents, George and Avis Parker; mother and father-in-law, Joyce and Barger Hunter and brother-in-law, Ed Robinson.

He leaves to remember and cherish his memory, his wife of 53 years, Susie Hamon of pampa; a son, Matthew Hamon and wife Dawn of Hutchinson, KS; two grandchildren, Delaney Hamon and Dylan Hamon both of Hutchinson, KS; a sister-in-law, Christy Robinson of Pampa; brother-in-law, Robert Hunter and wife Dianne of Morris, OK and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members who will miss him.

Kenneth will be available for viewing on Thursday, December 19 th from 10 am until 8 pm and again Friday, the 20 th from 9:30 until service time at 2 pm in the Winegeart Funeral Home Serenity Chapel.

Celebration of Life Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, December 20th , 2024, in the Winegeart Funeral Home Serenity Chapel with Pastor Jamisen Hancock officiating.

Interment will follow in Fairview cemetery. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
