Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument and Visitor Center Closure
Fritch – Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument will be undergoing critical roadway resurfacing throughout the park. This work is essential for providing future and continued access to historical and recreational activities around Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument and Lake Meredith National Recreation Area.
Road maintenance activities will start Thursday, August 3, 2023, and are scheduled to be completed by Sunday, September 3, 2023. Roads and parking areas that will be affected during this time are as follows:
• Alibates Access Road
• Alibates Visitor Center Parking Area
• Alibates Quarries Road to Trailhead
• Alibates Boat Ramp Access Road
• Alibates Main Entrance
There will be no access to Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument for the visiting public. Dates will be posted on the park sites, social media, and Headquarters bulletins for expected working schedules.
