Alma Ruth McBride, 87, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 in Norman, Oklahoma.

Graveside services are 2:00 PM Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor at First Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.

Mrs. McBride was born November 12, 1933 in Savoy to Herman Braden and Veda Mae Alverson.  She was a resident of Pampa for most of her life.  Ruth graduated from Pampa High School in 1952.  She married her high school sweetheart, Douglas Ray McBride on March 14, 1953 in Pampa.  They raised one child, Terry Ray.  

She worked at First National Bank for several years and Northern Natural Gas Company.  She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church and belonged to the Business and Professional Women’s Class. Ruth was a member of Daughter’s for the American Revolution. Beta Sigma Phi, Preceptor Chi Chapter, and Pampa Senior Citizens.  She enjoyed looking at home magazines, catalogs and decorating her house.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Terry McBride; and her sister, Peggy Louise Cannon.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sherry McBride of Piedmont, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Justin McBride and wife Rachel of Edmond, Oklahoma and Matt McBride and wife Cheyenne of Mustang, Oklahoma; a granddaughter, Abby Wright and husband Jacob of Liberty, Missouri; and three great grandchildren, Rocky Wright, Maizy Wright and Raya McBride.
