City of Pampa releases information on COVID-19

Posted

Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, has declared a state of emergency in all Texas counties due to the COVID- 19 virus. There is some information we would like to get to our citizens to address the current situation.

Please remember there are a few easy steps that serve as a reminder to help protect yourself and your family: Practice good/normal hygiene, wash your hands thoroughly for twenty seconds, keep your hands away from your mouth/nose/eyes, try to stay away from large crowds, avoid shaking hands if possible.

City staff is working closely with Gray County, Pampa Regional Medical Center, Pampa ISD, as well as state and national officials to ensure we are as prepared as we can possibly be to handle this situation.

We do urge you to not take this lightly, but also there is no need to panic at this time. Keep yourself and your family educated and prepared. Governor Abbott has stated there is absolutely no need to stock pile supplies. There are plenty of supplies in the state for all cities and counties. Please be aware as a community we are doing everything we can to continue keeping our citizens safe.

Below you will find a link to further educate yourself on COVID-19. We will continue to monitor the situation and will make every effort to keep you informed. We want you to rest assured we are doing everything we can to first, keep our citizens safe, and second, continue providing services to our citizens.
