The Gray County Commissioners approved a game room ordinance on Friday morning during a regularly-scheduled meeting.
There was no comment during the public hearing on the matter, but County Judge Chris Porter explained some of the regulations.
“The permit application and permit are both available on the Gray County website,” Porter said. “It limits hours of operation to Monday through Saturday (8 a.m. to 10 p.m.), it also has background checks for employees, a permit process that says you have to have a County permit affixed on your business, etc.”
There is a grace period after the second reading for game room business owners to bring their business into compliance, and a $1,000 fee for the permits. The full application and permit process can be found at www.gray.co.tx
The Commissioners also approved the following items:
• Minutes of the previous meeting.
• Pay Bills as Approved by the County Auditor.
• Bid Process and Documents with Open Range for County Road 3 Rebuild.
• Approving Nick Simpson as Gray County Extension Agent.
