Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Monday, September 11, 2023 at Briarwood Church with Pastor Jamisen Hancock officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Don was born March 11, 1957 in Pampa to James William and Billie Anne Campbell. He graduated from Pampa High School in the class of 1975 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Business Administration from Oklahoma State University in 1979.  On August 14, 1976, he married Sue Mayer in Pampa, and they lived in Stillwater, Oklahoma for several years. Don and Sue moved back to Pampa in 1979 and that same year Don and his brother, Bob, started BAD Cattle Company. The two of them began their business as a farming and ranching operation. After their father passed away, they continued the operations of the Hayhook Ranch. Don loved the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed going to the games as much as he could. He was also an avid Oklahoma State Cowboy fan. Don’s hobbies included fishing and taking care of his plants in his greenhouse. He was a founding member of Hoover Volunteer Fire Department and served on several boards through the years. Don was a member of Briarwood Church. He was very generous man, who never wanted to have any recognition.

Don had an incredible sense of humor; he was quite a prankster. He enjoyed fireworks, always putting on a big display during the fourth of July. One of his greatest joys was being “Pops” to his five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William “Bill” David Campbell and Robert “Bob” Dale Campbell; aunt and uncle, Jewell and Glenn “Buzz” Tarpley.

Survivors include his wife, Sue of the home; daughter, Elizabeth Day and husband Shon of Pampa; two sons, Brandon Campbell and wife Christy and Ben Campbell and wife Mayra all of Pampa; five grandchildren, Collin Campbell, Clark Campbell, Lillian Campbell, Campbell Day, and Callan Day; and a sister-in-law, Martha Campbell of Pampa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Briarwood Church, 1800 W. Harvester, Pampa, Texas 79065.
