Entries open for Top O’ Texas Rodeo Association events

Entries for all TOTRA events are now open.

Entries for the Kid Pony Show/Jr. Rodeo to be held Saturday, July 22, will remain open until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 11. Late entries will close at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18. All late entries will have an added $15 late fee. Birth certificates are required if not on file from a previous year.

The Mutton Bustin’ Extravaganza is returning to the Top O’ Texas Rodeo for its eighth year. This extremely popular event, sponsored by Wayne’s Western Wear, will be held during the barbecue on Friday, August 11, at 5:30 p.m. An earlier starting time for the Extravaganza may be implemented depending on the number of entries received. The Top 10 finishers on Friday will advance to the Finals to be held during the rodeo performance on Saturday, August 12. Buckles will be awarded to the top 3 finishers of the Finals.

Entries are now open to riders ages 7 and under. There is no limit as to how many contestants will be accepted, however riders may only ride once as this is a single elimination format. Entry fee is $20.

Deadline for entries is Tuesday, August 8, by 5:00 p.m. Birth certificates are required if not on file from a previous year. Entries are also currently being accepted for the Top O’ Texas Rodeo parade which will wind its way through downtown Pampa on Saturday, August 12, at 10:30 a.m. Parade Marshall for this year’s event will be Michael Anderson, owner of Pampa Home & Sleep Store.

The 2023 parade route is as follows:

• Forms at 9:30 A.M. at the M. K. Brown parking lot

• South on Somerville to Francis

• East on Francis to Cuyler

• South on Cuyler to Atchison

• East on Atchison to train depot where it will disband

Engraved trophies will be given to winners of various categories. Entries will be accepted up until parade time. Proof of current Coggins is required on all horses. All floats and organizations that will be throwing candy must have at least 2 spotters in place to watch children as they retrieve the candy and are asked to try and throw the candy closer to the curb.
