BOOM Adventures is a non-profit organization that provides outdoor excursions for Veterans, active military members, and first responders. These events serve as opportunities to assist with any mental and physical hardships that these groups may face. Founded in 2016, BOOM Adventures has served these members by providing them with hunting, fishing, and camping trips. Jeremy Cossio, an Air Force Veteran, is on the Board of Directors for the non-profit and serves as a guide for these outings.
Cossio reflected upon first joining the non-profit organization.
“When I became involved with BOOM, I was already taking Veterans on hunting trips,” Cossio said. “I met the President of the group, Blake, a year and a half ago when he started working at Pantex. He explained what the group was about and what they had been doing.”
Cossio soon joined BOOM Adventures as a guide for the excursions and thoroughly enjoyed providing these spirited experiences. It was during this year that Cossio joined the non-profit’s Board of Directors. He spoke highly of his time in the organization.
“It’s been awesome,” Cossio said. “We are serving those who serve us. It has been a great process for everyone involved. The Veterans get a lot out of it and we get a lot out of it by helping and building camaraderie with them.”
The outdoor excursions that BOOM Adventures provides are not solely or Veterans, active military members, and first responders, but for their families as well. The non-profit has hosted multiple father/son trips and sports tournaments for families. BOOM Adventures also has several youth programs and will be starting an equestrian program soon.
In addition, BOOM Adventures will also be participating in the City View Heroes Parade on December 9th. The non-profit organization will also be hosting an Active Duty Christmas Dinner on December 17th.
