CANYON - The Pampa Hustlin’ Harvesters (15-9, 4-2) fell to the Canyon Eagles 50-37 at Canyon on Tuesday.

The Harvesters came out strong, leading 14-8 after the first quarter. But some foul trouble for some key pieces led to the disaster for Pampa.

“We had a great first quarter,” Head Coach Braydon Barker said. “Foul trouble hurt us in the second and third quarters.

“Both Jose and Julian Alonzo had to sit the majority of both quarters due to foul trouble so that hurt us offensively. They got hot to start the third quarter from the perimeter as well.”

Senior Isaiah Fernandez had nine points, a three, two rebounds and went 2-3 in free throws; Junior Parker Webb had five points, five rebounds, one assist and went 1-1 in free throws; Junior Dalton Booth had five points, three rebounds, six assists, four deflections and two steals while going 3-6 in free throws; Senior Julian Alonzo had four points, three deflections, one steal and one block; Junior Jose Alonzo had eight points, one three, one rebound, three deflections and went 1-1 in free throws; junior K’Trillion Young had three points, one three and one rebound; Junior Conner Hall had three points off a trey and one rebound; Senior Bryce Lynn had three rebounds, one assist and two deflections; Senior Kyler Peet had one rebound and one deflection.

Barker noted that Webb has been a force in the paint fielding rebounds.

“Parker is one of our strongest players and one of our best rebounders,” Barker said. “He finishes well around the basket as well. He is a great player to bring off the bench to control the paint when Tristan is not in the game.”

The Harvesters returned to action Friday when they hosted West Plains at McNeely Fieldhouse.

“This will be the first time we play West Plains this year,” Barker said. “They are a very solid team as they are sitting 5-1 in district so far. They play very good man to man defense and have some good guards.”
