The Inaugural Koltan Wynn Henderson Memorial Golf Classic is set for Saturday, July 10 at 8 a.m.

The event will benefit a memorial scholarship fund at Frank Phillips College honoring the late Koltan Wynn Henderson.

“He passed away last year,” Henderson’s sister Krishna Harriman said. “Instead of flowers, we set up a scholarship fund account because he did I/E at Frank Phillips and we wanted to be able to help out future students with scholarships.”

There will be door prizes available at the tournament with gift cards to local businesses, a set of cornhole boards to be raffled and auctioned.

Prizes will also be available for closest to pin and longest drive.

Entry is $70/person with mulligans to be sold at sign-in for $5 each with a max of five/person.

Hole sponsorships are available for $50/hole. The deadline to register for hole sponsorships are July 7.

“We would love to have one on each hole,” Harriman said. “Businesses are giving us their business cards for hole sponsorships and if friends/family that knew him and would like to put a message, they can.”

Donations are welcome for the event and even if you’re not a golfer, you’re welcome to come spend time with the family.

“Even though we are only taking a certain amount of teams if people want to just come and hang out they are welcome to,” Harriman said. “Donations are welcome, but people are more than welcome to just come and hang out with the family.”
