Jackie was born on September 1, 1937, in Shattuck, OK to Herbert and Ruth Taylor. Jackie would travel, live, and go to school in various places due to his father’s work. Eventually, his family permanently settled in Pampa. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Following his service to his country, Jackie returned to Pampa. He would meet Carolyn, the love of his life, and they married on January 26, 1973. They shared over 50 wonderful years before his passing.

Jackie was a jack-of-all trades. He worked for Cabot Carbon Black for 17 years and worked as a self-employed farmer, rancher, and welder. He retired from the welding business in 2000, but since Jackie could not stay still, he kept with his farming and ranching. Working his and Carolyn’s cattle and land brought Jackie an immense amount of pride and joy.

Jackie was a faithful man that loved his Lord and his church. He was a long-time member of Hobart Baptist church, and he enjoyed working as a greeter as often as he could. Jackie will be remembered as giving man who tried to help others whenever in need and he will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, George Taylor.
