Lady Harvesters Fall to Randall 12-7

The Pampa Lady Harvesters traveled to Randall to take on the Lady Raiders on Tuesday. Pampa, Randall, and West Plains were all tied for second place with an 8-4 record. Despite leading 4-1, Pampa would fall to Randall by a final score of 12-7. With the loss, Pampa drops into a three-way tie with West Plains and Canyon. 

Trailing 1-0, Pampa scored four runs in the top of the third inning to take a 4-1 lead. Carsyn Hunt led with a single, McKinley Daniels walked, and Briley Daniels singled to score Carsyn from second base. McKinley would score on a throwing error by the Randall left fielder. Maecie Hawthorne would walk putting runners on first and third. Cambree Dyer then hit a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Briley from third. Kassie Arnzen then singled, scoring Maecie from second base. 

However, Randall would answer with four runs in the fourth, one run in the fourth and six runs in the fifth to take a commanding 12-4 lead. But Pampa was not done yet, as they would add three runs in the top of the sixth to cut the lead to 12-7.  Back-to-back singles by Briley and Maecie with two hits, put two runners on setting the stage for three-run home run by Cassidy Stanhope.

For Pampa, Briley Daniels, and Michelle Gallegos each had three hits, Carsyn, Cambree and Cassidy added two hits a piece for Pampa, McKinley Maecie, and Kassie each added a hit also. Pampa outhit Randall fifteen hits to ten, but Randall had six extra base hits, including two home runs. 

Maecie went the distance for Pampa pitching six innings, giving up ten twelve runs on ten hits, striking out four and walking seven. In other district action Dumas defeated West Plains 14-4, Hereford beat Perryton 13-2 and Canyon beat Borger 11-1. The standings with one game left are as follows:

Dumas 13-0

Randall 9-4

Randall 8-5

West Plains 8-5

Canyon 8-5

Hereford 4-9 

Borger 2-11

Perryton 0-13

The playoff picture looks like this: Dumas has already clinched the district championship and will be the number one seed big school rep. Randall has clinched a playoff spot and with a win over Hereford Friday will secure the number one seed small school division. 

If Pampa can beat Dumas, they will secure a spot in the playoffs. The winner of the Canyon-West Plains will also secure a spot in the playoffs. If Pampa loses to Dumas, Pampa will have to play the loser of the Canyon-West Plains in a play in game to determine the fourth and final spot.  If Pampa gets in the playoffs, they will be the number two seed small school, and whoever gets in between Canyon and West Plains would be the number two seen big school rep. 

Pampa will host Dumas Friday at noon at Lady Harvester Field, Canyon-West Plains play Friday, Randall plays Hereford and Borger takes on Perryton.
