The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:30 PM on Monday, April 3, 2023, at the funeral home.

Loveta was born on March 7, 1939, in Stanton, Texas to Willie and Juanita Hull. On April 2, 1955, she married the love of her life, Ray Pope. The couple was only 2 days away from celebrating their 68th wedding anniversary. They moved to Pampa in 1967 and have been a part of the community ever since. Loveta held many jobs during her life, some of which included working for IRI for nearly 10 years, Heard-Jones drug store, Dairy Queen, and Pampa ISD.

One of Loveta’s favorite things to do was work in the yard. She would garden, plant flowers in the flower beds, and dig up weeds, which was a certain type of therapy for her. She passed down this special therapy to her children. Loveta also loved to cook for her family and enjoyed her trips with Ray to the Cabot Ranch, where they would spend several weeks out of the year.

Loveta worked tirelessly to feed and provide for her family. She was so proud to see all of her grandchildren graduate from high school. All children were precious in her eyes, but she had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Loveta was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

Loveta is preceded in death by her parents; a great-granddaughter, Layla Faye; sister, Dorothy Long; and brother, Bobby Don Hull.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Pope of the home; brother, Homer Lee Hull and wife Doris; son, Ricky Pope of Canyon; 3 daughters, Debora Rice and husband Dwight of Lubbock, Karen Gilleland of Pampa, and Nesha Walker and husband Clifton of Oak Point; 8 grandchildren, Christopher Rice and wife Rose of Panhandle, Brooke Ham of Durango, Colorado, Michelle Gamblin and husband Dave of Celina, Heather Roschetzky and husband Gary of Lamesa, Texas, Sean Pope and wife Misty of Conroe, Kolby Gilleland and wife Amanda of Canyon, Amber Nesloney and husband Jason of Lubbock, and Dakota Gilleland and wife Shelby of Abilene; 16 great-grandchildren, Carter Rice of Panhandle, Jordyn Roschetzky, Hunter Roschetzky, and Aubrey Roschetzky, all of Lamesa, Texas, Wrigley Ham, Camden Ham, and Jack Ham, all of Durango, Colorado, Jase Pope of Conroe, Ella Gamblin, Emerson Gamblin, and John Luke Gamblin, all of Celina, Hazel Nesloney, Hadley Nesloney, and Hannah Nesloney, all of Lubbock, Delilah Gilleland of Canyon, and Charlie Gilleland of Abilene; and numerous other extended family members.
