June was born on September 20, 1942 in Dumas to Mary Elizabeth and Emmet Watkins, Sr.. As a young girl her family moved to Pampa, where she attended and graduated High School. While in high school, she met the love of her life, Danny Spangler. They later married and shared many good years and raised three children before he preceded her in death in 1992.

June worked in the food service industry for several years but concentrated on caring for her family- something she felt fortunate to be able to do. She did return to school when she enrolled at Amarillo College. June later graduated with a degree in Nursing, earning her associate degree in nursing. June worked for over twenty years as a RN at the Pampa Regional Hospital. During her tenure, June worked in the Intensive Care Unit and also served as the director of Med-Surg where she was able to teach and share her knowledge to new nurses and she later retired in 2007. When she wasn’t helping others in the medical industry, June liked to sew and garden. But her family, especially her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren brought her the most pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

June was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Anna Lee, Shirley, and Alma; three brothers, Dickie, Emmet, Jr., and Freddie; one granddaughter, Amanda White and one great-granddaughter, Ava Wilkins; and by a special friend, Margaret Mason.
