Pampa’s Christmas Parade of Lights made sure to give the community a holly jolly Christmas. Sleigh bells were ringing and Downtown Pampa was decorated with sparkly bows and mistletoe for this wondrous event. Cortnie Patterson, Pampa Chamber of Commerce Director, spoke highly about this year’s Christmas Parade of Lights.
“We felt that it was a great turnout, especially considering the weather,” Patterson said. “It was chilly, which is nice for Christmas weather and the rain stopped in time. It was a great parade. There were a lot of participants and people who came out to watch.”
What separates the Christmas Parade of Lights from all the other parades throughout the year is the timing. The Parade of Lights is Pampa’s only nighttime parade. The night setting adds to the alluring features of the floats and makes all the lights stand out.
Patterson discussed the importance of shopping local this holiday season.
“Our theme for Shop Pampa First this year is: Keep the Cheer Here,” Patterson said. “When you shop local, 68 cents of every dollar stays in town.”

• Holiday Spirit Award: Entry with the most Enthusiastic Participants - Cub Scouts Pack 4423
• Tin Soldier Award: Best Marching, Walking, or Dance Entry - Madeline Graves Performing Arts Center
• Caroling Award: Entry with the Best Musical Performance - Pride of Pampa Band
• Santa’s Sleigh Award: Entry with the Best Theme in Motion as a Float or Other Motorized Vehicles - The Zone Bowling Center
• Vintage Vehicle Award: Entry for Best Car or Truck Display - Zed Richards - Ghostbusters Car
• Rudolph’s Friends Award: Entry Featuring the Best Animals - D-D Riding Club
• Fruitcake Award: Entry with the most Humorous Display - Mernickle Custom Holsters
Congratulations to all those who participated and all those who attended Pampa’s Christmas Parade of Lights. Next year’s Parade of Lights will be on December 9th, 2023.
