The College Board released Advanced Placement Exam scores and we are proud to announce our AP Spanish students continued to lead the nation in their academic endeavors. Our terrific twelve AP Spanish students beat the Texas and United States average on the Spanish AP exam by over 20 percentage points and all 12 earned college credit hours for their scores. A special congratulations goes out to Leia Vera, Maria Cerezo, Ever Martinez, Kiara Sotelo, Brissa Saldierna, Fatima Rosas, and Angel Salazar for earning a “5”, the highest score possible on their AP Spanish exam. The average score this year from the twelve was a 4.50, breaking the school record of 4.28 set in 2019!

West Texas A&M University has chosen to honor Mr. Cole with the 2023 Foreign Language Teaching Program Excellence Award from the Panhandle Language Teachers Association on September 8th in Canyon. We are so proud of these students and our foreign language department headed up by Michael Cole.

Tuesday started off a busy week of extracurricular activities for PHS as Harvester Tennis took on Borger and the Lady Harvester Volleyball team hosted a talented Tascosa squad. PHS Debate traveled to Pflugerville for their first major tournament of the year Friday and Saturday. Friday Harvester Football traveled to Plainview and Harvester Tennis traveled to Randall. Saturday saw Lady Harvester Volleyball defeat Dalhart and Cross Country ran in Borger.

I can’t believe August has already come and gone. We have much to be thankful for and much left to accomplish. It’s going to be a great year. It’s a great day to be a Harvester!
