Shamrock To Host 77th Annual St. Patrick’s Celebration

Three Day Family-Friendly Event to Attract Thousands of Visitors to the Texas Panhandle

SHAMROCK, TX -- Shamrock’s 77th Annual St. Patrick’s Celebration, The Official St. Patrick’s Day Celebration for the State of Texas, will kick off Friday, March 15th with three days full of St. Patrick’s events!

The fun starts Friday with the opening of the Carnival, followed by the kickoff banquet and Country Club Dance featuring two great bands; Ian Tonroy & the Convoy and Mind Plays.

Saturday, a full schedule of events is on tap starting with the 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk, Donegal Beard Contest and the 77th Annual St. Patrick’s Parade at 10:30 am, which will run down Main Street.

“We pride ourselves on putting on the biggest and best parade in the region,” explains organizer Mark Howard. “As in years past, the parade will include groups from all over the region and will be quite a show!”

After the parade, participants will enjoy dozens of events including a St. Patrick’s Day Professional Wrestling Match, the Arts & Crafts Show, Motorcycle Rally & Poker Run, Car Show, the Annual Cornhole Tournament, the Ranch Rodeo & Goat Roping event, Rusty’s Wing Eating Contest, the Green Beer Pour and so much more!

“Saturday’s main events are a Christian Concert from Band Reeves and the Big Dance, which features four amazing bands; Electric Gypsies, The Tyler Wilhelm Band, Ian Tonroy Band, and River Driver,” explains Howard.

The festivities begin again Sunday at 9 am with the Gravel Grinder Bike Ride, followed by the opening of the Carnival and the Arts & Crafts Show. 

The Annual Lad-n-Lassie Pageant will also be held Sunday at the Shamrock High School Auditorium.
