Teresa Diane Duke

Teresa Diane Duke, 55 years young, of Amarillo, formerly of Pampa, peacefully passed from this life into eternal rest with her loving Savior. She was born on October 29, 1965 to Charles Henry and Mary Duke in Pampa.

Shortly after graduating from Pampa High School in 1984, Teresa moved to Amarillo where she had remained. Her dedication and loyalty were very evident as seen in her 30 years of employment with Wal-Mart, but even more so throughout her friendships. If you were a friend with Teresa, you had a friend for life. In her fun-loving way, she encountered numerous shenanigans and adventures with her best friends, Carmelina and Cree. But perhaps the most important and greatest quality about Teresa, was her ability to be a loving mother and daughter, not to mention a fantastic MeMe! She always had words of wisdom and offered the best advice to her two kids. Even though she had a serious and nurturing nature, Teresa was just as spontaneous and silly as well. At any given moment, she and her grandson, Ja’Shan, could bust out singing Pharrell’s “Happy” as that was just something they did together. She loved to listen to Boyz II Men, was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and pressed her luck with BINGO when given the opportunity. Teresa was full of playfulness, laughter, and love and she will be missed by many.

Those that went on before her are her PaPa, Arthur Fields; grandparents, Leamon and Dorothy Duke; an aunt, Esther Frashar; two uncles, George and Raymond Duke.

Those she left to remember her are a son, Leamon Duke of Amarillo; daughter, Jessica Duke and boyfriend Denzzail Smith; Father, Charles Henry; mother, Mary Fields; brother, Timothy Fields and two grandchildren, Ja’Shan Smith and Denzzail Smith, Jr. all of Pampa.

Teresa will be available to pay respects on Wednesday from 4pm until 8pm; Thursday and Friday from 9am until 8pm and again Saturday from 9am until noon at Winegeart Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life Homegoing Services are set for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church with King Priest Billy Woodard officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family has entrusted the care of their beloved to Winegeart Funeral Home. As much as Teresa’s family would cherish the hugs and handshakes, they respectfully ask that attendees wear a mask and please try to maintain social distancing as to keep everyone safe.
