Pampa High School was awarded the first ever “Program Of Excellence Award” presented to a High School by West Texas A&M and the Panhandle Language Teachers Association.

The Foreign Language program at PHS has now become the model for Language Teaching in this region of the United States. This award was presented at a training for area teachers put on by WTAMU last Friday, September 8, 2023.

A video program about the techniques used by this department to develop student success was also presented to serve as a model for the many Texas and Oklahoma educators in attendance.

The PHS Language Department was joined by two past teachers and three former students to accept this recognition of teaching and student talent.  Those former students are now studying to become Spanish teachers at WTAMU and will ultimately become future educators for PISD.
