18-year-old killed in single-vehicle crash

An 18-year-old from Sunray is dead after a single-vehicle crash three miles southwest of Dumas.

At 11 p.m. on Saturday, a 2003 Cadillac CTS driven by Ivan Villanueva-Garcia, 18, Sunray, was traveling northeast on Farm-to-Market 722 when it veered off the roadway, into a barrow ditch and rolled over. The driver was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. It is believed the driver may have fallen asleep.

Villanueva-Garcia was pronounced dead by Moore County Justice of the Peace, Barbara Mulanex.

Crash remains under investigation. Information may change, be corrected, or added based on the investigators findings.
