An Amarillo man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Farm-to-Market Road near South Washington Street in Amarillo Saturday.
At 10:45 p.m., Joseph Talamantez, 23, Amarillo, was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe 1.3 miles south of Amarillo south on FM 1541. A 2003 Peterbilt Truck Tractor, driven by Darlina Swain, 59, Talpa, Texas was driving south in front of the Tahoe.
Texas DPS reports Talamantez failed to control speed and struck the back right end of the truck tractor. The Tahoe then rolled over onto it’s side and caught fire.
Talamantez was pronounced deceased at the scene by Randall County Justice of the Peace.
The crash remains under investigation. Information may change, be corrected, or added based on the investigators findings.
