Double Fatality near Hereford

A two-vehicle crash killed two from Hereford on Wednesday evening on FM 1058 and County Road KK approximately 6.25 miles west of Hereford.

A 2011 Peterbilt Truck Tractor towing a semi-trailer driven by Arnoldo Cordova, 54, of Abernathy was traveling west on FM 1058.

A 2006 Dodge Durango driven by Brooke Durr, 21, of Hereford was traveling south on CR KK and approaching FM 1058 with a passenger, Jamie Phillips, 24, of Hereford.

The 2006 Dodge Durango disregarded the stop sign at the intersection and traveled into the path of the 2011 Peterbilt Truck Tractor. The front end of the 2011 Peterbilt collided into the left passenger side of the 2006 Dodge. Both vehicles came to rest in the south barrow ditch of FM 1058.

Brooke Durr was pronounced dead on the scene by Deaf Smith County Justice of the Peace, Karen Boren.

Jamie Phillips was transported to Hereford Regional Medical Center where she died from the injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced deceased by Dr. Earl Chase.

Arnoldo Cordova was not injured.

All three were wearing their seat belts.

The crash remains under investigation. Information may change, be corrected, or added based on the investigators findings.
