Fishing Report on Texas Lakes

Lake Meredith: FAIR. Water stained; 69 degrees; 50.75 feet low. Walleye are good, up to a 7.25-pounder, biting on minnows, crawlers, slabs, spinnerbaits, jigheads in water depths of 35 feet on secondary points. White bass are schooling up feeding on shad.

Lake Greenbelt: SLOW. Water stained; 65 degrees; 39.22 feet low. Fishing is very slow, heading into fall. There are very few reports of catches or action on the lake.

White River: SLOW. Water stained; 70 degrees; 20.68 feet low. Fishing is slow, with few reports coming in. Largemouth bass and stripers are fair in shallow water using plastics. Crappie are fair on minnows around rock structures. There are a few reports of crappie being caught from the banks. Walleye are good on minnows. Channel catfish are good on dough bait and minnows on the bottom.

Alan Henry: FAIR. Water clear; 70 degrees; 2.25 feet low. The shad are moving up out of the creeks, and the fish are feeding up. Black bass, spotted bass, and largemouth bass are good using brim-colored football jigs and trolling with crankbaits, with some topwater action. Search anywhere from 2-35 feet of water. Crappie fishing is excellent, in structure on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on live or cut bait and stinkbait.

Arrowhead: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 69 degrees; 1.75 feet low. The water temperatures are in the low 70s. Catfish are excellent on punch bait over baited holes. Crappie are good at the derricks, around docks, and submerged timber to about 4 feet.

Possum Kingdom: GOOD. Water lightly stained; 75 degrees; 0.47 feet low. We are still waiting for the water temperature to decline for the fishing to improve. Striper fishing are good, and the bite should continue for a while. Crappie are good on minnows in structure. Catfishing is slow but should pick up as the water cools.
