Georgia Brown, 86, of Pampa, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 5, 2023.
Her services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ, with Frankie Lemons an Elder of Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ, officiating. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Georgia will be available for viewing from 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, and 8:00 AM -8:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Georgia was born on May 27, 1937, in Laneville, Texas to George and Rachael Loftis. Her family would move from East Texas to Borger where she grew up and graduated high school. After high school, she entered college to help begin her career in childcare and then later into adult nursing care.
Georgia eventually met Eugene “Gene” Brown and they married in Oklahoma. They spent several years there until they returned to Texas in 1985 to help with her mother. Once returning to Texas she and Gene became members of the Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ. She was a life-long Church of Christ member who was baptized when she was 15. Serving her Lord was an important part of her life.
Georgia was a sincere and straightforward woman who kept an immaculate house and took great care of everything that was important to her. She was also a compassionate woman who throughout her career and beyond helped care for young children and then onto the elderly. Georgia will be missed by her family, friends, and her church family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Loftis, and Raymond Loftis; and by two sisters, Melba Brooks, and Jonna Dickson
Georgia is survived by her husband, Gene Brown of the home; three sons, Tommye Price and wife Constance of Dallas, Michael Loftis of Amarillo, and Dale Blackmon and wife Sue of Lubbock; two daughters, Dinah Reed of Pampa, and Rita Price of Dallas; three stepdaughters, Wanda Ford of Enid, OK, Rhonda Patton of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Tami Brown of Enid, Oklahoma; two brothers, George Loftis, Jr., and Charles Loftis, both of Borger; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and other extended family.
