A man from Groom was killed in a single-vehicle rollover two miles north of Groom on Farm-to-Market Road 295 overnight Friday morning.
At 12:05 a.m., Jason Poisel, 38, Groom, was driving south of FM 295 and approached a curve in the roadway.
According to DPS, the driver was traveling at an unsafe speed as he was unable to negotiate the curve and the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado traveled off the road, rolled multiple times and ejected the unsecured driver.
The truck came to a rest on the upright in a field on the east side of the road.
The crash remains under investigation. Information may change, be corrected, or added based on the investigators findings.
