Jesse Thomas Richardson Jr. “Tommy”, 84, of Amarillo passed from this earth into everlasting life with his heavenly Father May 30, 2022.

Tommy was born January 07, 1938 to J.T. and Lola Richardson in Queen City, Texas. He spent his school life in Pampa and graduated from Pampa High School in 1956.

Tommy enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1958 to 1962.

He married Evelyn Coffee, his wife of 62 years in September of 1959. After serving in the Navy, he worked with his dad at J.T. Richardson Trucking and later purchased the company. In 1989 after selling Richardson Trucking he moved to Carrolton, Texas in the Dallas area. When Tommy began a new career in sales and public relations.

He and Evelyn resided there until 2017, when they both moved to Amarillo to enjoy retired life with their dog.

Many who knew Tommy referred to him as the “gentle giant”. People who knew him also spoke of his kindness and generosity.

Tommy never met a stranger and was quick to give a compliment or encouraging word, even to those he did not know.

Tommy was a lover of baby’s, little kids, and all animals; especially his dogs. He loved the outdoors and spent his free time fishing, golfing and exploring.

Tommy told the worst jokes in the world. He was God loving and loved to share God’s word.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, and his younger brothers, Arthur and Perry.

Survivors include his wife, Evenly Richardson of the home; daughter, Terry Briscoe; son, Tom Richardson and wife Desri, one sister, Betty Rogers; five grandchildren, Ben Briscoe, Luke Richardson, Adam Richardson, Jessica Hill and husband Johnny and Jake LeFlore; five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

The Final salute, a Military Honor Memorial, was held at the Ussery Roan Texas State Veterans Home in Amarillo.
