Lady Harvesters Claim Fourth Playoff Spot

The Pampa Lady Harvester softball team will be the number four seed out of District 4-4A and will face off against Monahans in a best of three series starting Friday in Lockney, TX. Game one will be played at 6:00 PM, game two will follow immediately and game three will be played Saturday morning at 10:00 AM if necessary. Monahans is the #1 seed out of District 3-4A, having completed a 10-0 District season. Monahans eliminated Pampa last year in the Regional Quarterfinals gaining a 2-1, and 4-3 sweep of Pampa.

This past week, Pampa faced off against Dumas on Friday, with a chance to tie Randall for second place. However, Dumas run-ruled the Lady Harvesters by a score of 14-2, setting up a rematch on Saturday with Dumas for a third-place tie breaker game. That games was held at WT High in Stinnett. Dumas would continue their hot streak defeating Pampa by a score of 13-2 and claiming the third seed.

In game one against Dumas, Pampa was only able to collect three base hits. Carsyn Hunt had a double and scored one run, McKinley Daniels had a single and an RBI and Reagan Dyer added a single as well. Briley Daniels scored the other run for Pampa.

In the tiebreaker game, it was much the same, as Pampa would have only five base hits in the ballgame. McKinley Daniels had a single, Brianna Cloud added a single and a run scored, Kynleigh Kirby had two- run home run in the bottom of the sixth, Hallie Hawthorne had a single and Reagan Dyer added a single as well.

In the Bi-District round, Canyon is the district 4-4A champion and will face off against four seed Pecos. Randall is the two seed and will face three seed Midland Greenwood. Dumas is the three seed and will face off against two seed Andrews and as previously mentioned, Pampa will face off against one seed Monahans.

Pampa’s overall record through the end of the regular season was 18-7 and 10-4 in district play.
