Mary Evelyn (Adams) Danley died peacefully in her sleep in Centennial, Colorado, on December 29, 2023.  A loving, kind and compassionate soul, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 15, 2024 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Carter Pirtle, pastor of First Baptist Church of Skellytown, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. The funeral service will be live-streamed through the funeral home’s website.

 Evelyn, as she was known to her friends, was born on February 15, 1922 and grew up in Denton, Maryland, with her eight brothers and sisters.  Following graduation from high school, she worked in a DuPont plant in Seaford, Delaware.  On February 28, 1945 she married Floyd Murphy (Dan) Danley in Denton, Maryland.  They were married until his death in 2008.  Together they had six children, Ron, Bud, Linda, Conrad and twins Marylynn and Marilee.  Evelyn and Dan lived various places, but the longest places of residence were Albuquerque, New Mexico and Lee’s Summit, Missouri.   Following Dan’s retirement in 1980, they moved from Lee’s Summit to Skellytown, Texas.  They lived together there until Dan’s passing.  In June 2020, Evelyn moved to Centennial, Colorado to be near her daughter Marylynn.    

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Danley; her daughter, Marilee House; her brothers, Liden, Jack, Paul and Norman Adams; and her sisters, Virginia Miller, Audrey McMahan and Bess Todd.

She is survived by her sister, Louise Horney; her sons, Ron, Bud and Conrad Danley; and her daughters, Linda O’Brien and Marylynn Henke.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 4:00-5:30 PM.
