Mayor DeFever wins Salvation Army Challenge

   The Salvation Army ‘Red Kettle Campaign’ brought out the communities is astounding support both for their respective Salvation Armies, but also to win the mayor challenge. The challenge was announced that the loser of the two. between DeFever and Felker would take a photo with the opposing towns mascot. Pampa has offically been named the winner.

   “What the mayor was able to do for our community was wonderful,” Salvation Army Director, Shelby Huff said. “He encouraged our community in being involved and ‘Doing The Most Good.’ I want to thank everyone, including the mayor that got involved and helped this.” Pampa was able to raise $11,945.65 and Borger raised $8,446.20. All funds raised will go back directly to the communites Salvation Armies that will go to helping the commu-nity and stay local. I appreciate all of the City of Pampa employees that worked so hard to make this such a success,” Mayor Lance DeFever said. “I would like to thank Mayor Karen Felker for her service to the citizens of Borger and for participating in this challenge. In events like this, both communitites as well as the Salvation Army all win!”
