APRIL 2023 | PAMPA, TX – On the evening of Tuesday, April 25th administrators, teachers, and staff of Pampa Independent School District gathered to honor three employees who exemplify the PISD spirit. The awards included the Elementary School Teacher of the Year, Secondary School Teacher of the Year, and the Harvester Spirit Award.
Award recipients are as follows:
Elementary School Teacher of the Year: Mindy Moore
Secondary School Teacher of the Year: Jarilyn Wichert
Harvester Spirit Award: Tanner Davis
As an extra bonus to sweeten the victory for the winners, First Bank & Trust gave a $500 cash award to each Teacher of the Year recipient and $250 to the winner of the Harvester Spirit Award.
“We are so thrilled that First Bank & Trust blessed our winners with a cash prize!” Jana Williamson, PISD Director of Communications said. “Our winners were not expecting to receive this, and it made the evening even more special. We’d like to extend our appreciation to the bank for their support of PISD and this event.”
The awards ceremony and dinner, which was held at the MK Brown Civic Center, is an annual event designed to honor and reward the exceptional educators of PISD. This year marked the first time the Harvester Spirit Award was presented which was established to honor a Pampa ISD staff member who has demonstrated an “above and beyond” work ethic while demonstrating the mission, vision, and goals of Pampa ISD.
