Happy New Year and welcome back to PHS! I sincerely hope you all enjoyed a much deserved break from an eventful fall semester. I know I sure enjoyed some time to rest and recharge before we get set for the eventfulness of a spring semester at the secondary level. Not all staff and students got the entire break off from school activities. The Lady Harvester basketball team placed 1st in the Silver Bracket at the North Texas Classic Tournament and sophomore Berlin Bartlett was named to the All-Tournament team. The Hustlin’ Harvesters basketball team went 4-0 at the Gruver Holiday Tournament. Our boys and girls soccer programs hosted their alumni game and kicked off their seasons at tournaments. Congratulations to first year head coach Meganne Salazar on her first career victory with the Lady Harvesters Soccer team! PHS senior Rebecca Scott participated in the Arizona National Stock Show and finished 2nd and 4th in Lambs and 4th overall in Skill-A-Thon! Congratulations to PHS Choir students Kate Smith, Abigail White, Aidan Chapleau, and Clark Allen on qualifying for state in February. We’re so proud of them and wish them luck next month! The PHS Swim team fared well in Andrews and had the 200 medley relay and a couple individual swimmers qualify for finals in a stacked field of competitors from across Texas and New Mexico. The boys wrestling team had a strong showing at the Canyon Invitational and went 2-1 by beating Boys Ranch and Borger. To top it off, several of our student organizations volunteered at the Celebration of Lights over the break as well. We’re so proud of the servant mentality that our sponsors, coaches, and directors instill in our students and are thankful for their willingness to give back to their community. As we turn the page to a new year, we are excited to continue to partner with this community to shape the next wave of proud Pampans and with a little over half the school year remaining, we anxiously await the successes and celebrations that 2023 will bring to PHS. Cheers to a joy filled and eventful 2023! It’s a great day to be a Harvester
