Jazzercise Pampa has been at it’s new location at 2211 Perryton Pkwy since the Spring of 2020.

“What made us want to open our own location, was more flexibility,” Instructor, Heather McCarley said. “Before, if the building we were working out of was closed, we had to close or cancel those classes. So it’s nice to have our own place.”

Tammy Stevens, Owner of Jazzercise Pampa, also noted that the move offers them more room for class sizes as well as peace of mind when it comes to cleaning things up or closing up shop.

“Now that this building is only ours, we don’t have to put everything locked up and away when the day is done,” Stevens said. “We can leave things out in a spot if we want to, and we don’t have to share the space anymore. We loved where we were before because it allowed us to have a starting place that built up to this.”

Jazzercise Pampa has six instructors, Tammy Stevens who has been in Jazzercise for 12 years, Katie Kidd with 11 years of experience, Autumn Smith who has 10 years. Heather McCarley and Stephanie Nelson who have both been instructors for eight years, and Alison Cuellar with three years.

“I started just because I’d been invited by another member,” Cuellar said. “I participated in classes during both of my pregnancies, and now my girls come with me sometimes and want to actually be a part of the classes. It’s the cutest thing.”

The building offers child care Monday through Friday during it’s classes so parents have a place to leave their kids while working out.

“When you hear the word Jazzercise, you think dance,” Stevens said. “But it’s much more than that, it has a reputation that it’s a fun time class, and we do have loads of fun, but you’ll be surprised just how much exercising you’ll do in one of our classes.”

No need to be fit to a certain level to participate in these classes, come as you are is the advice from the ladies.
“You don’t have to be the perfect body, or the perfect athlete to attend,” Instructor, Autumn Smith said. “And it’s not just for women. We do a valentines class every year where you bring your spouse. My husband came with me last year and was completely wore out after the class. I remember him telling me he hadn’t sweat as much as he did in class in years.”

Jazzercise has 13 classes a week, with both the Jazzercise structured courses, but also PT classes that are more one on one focused on lifting weights and learning proper form.

“There isn’t an age limit either,” Stevens said. “We had a 75 year old that would come, and she’d joke she couldn’t do all the routine because she wasn’t limber enough. But she’d stand in the back and march the whole class and do what moves she could with us. This is truly for anyone and everyone.”

The pricing starts out at $58 a month, which allows unlimited classes, but for right now they are running a special for new members and returning members,
“Right now, until January 25th were doing $99 for two months of classes for new customers,” Stevens said. “But for members that haven’t renewed and been back for a while, they can come back and start at $0 for the first month, we want to build the community of people in our classes.”

McCarley said the best part of the program is meeting and building your community of people in Jazzercise, but also the enjoyment that comes with being involved.

“You meet so many amazing people, and it makes it all the better to continue coming back,” McCarley said. “As you come more and more, you’ll find those routines that are you’re favorite ones and the instructors can tell. You always know when the song that comes on is someones favorite routine because they light up.”

Jazzercise Pampa offers classes Monday through Friday at 8:30, Monday through Thursdays at 5:30 and Tuesday through Thursday at 6:30. They also do classes at 4:30 on Fridays, and a 4:30 on Sundays.
