Serving the Community for over 50 Years: PYCC

With a new year, comes new changes. The Pampa Youth & Community Center has been in Pampa for over 65+ years, and still serves the community

The PYCC has been in Pampa since the 50’s serving the community with it’s facilities. Donating time to the swim teams for practice in the pools, or the tennis courts to tennis teams both from Pampa and surrounding areas when weather isn’t in favor of outdoor practice.

“We are a non-profit, and by doing so we give back as best as we can,” PYCC Director, Jimmy Hicks said. “We allow the schools to use our facilities as needed, when the swim team needs the pool we have it available for them, and even the football teams occasionally utilize the pool.”

The PYCC (Pampa Youth & Community Center) offers a range of equipment, including new equipment that will soon be installed for members to use. As part of the growing desire to join community workouts, the PYCC offers many different classes.

“We offer spin classes that non-members are welcomed to join,” Hicks said. “Along with spin, we have HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), CrossFit and Water Aerobics.”

All classes are open to both members, and non-members, while there is a small fee for non-members.

In addition to the new equipment, the PYCC has also installed a camera system to better protect their members and equipment.

“You never know what can happen, so having cameras is going to be a big plus for us,” Hicks said. “We want to make sure our equipment isn’t mismanaged or that someone isn’t being harmed while being here. It’s for the well being of our members and any one else that comes through here.”

The Pampa Youth & Community Center offers different membership levels, for an Individual membership the rate is $30 a month, and a family rate is only $50 a month.

With the New Year here, and most resolutions being to get to the gym, now is the time to join PYCC.
