Bobby Gene Armstrong, Jr, 61, of Pampa, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 in Amarillo.  He was born on June 17, 1958 to Bobby and Gleen Armstrong in Pampa, Texas.

Bobby had been a lifelong resident of Pampa and attended Pampa schools.  He had worked as a dog catcher for the City of Pampa for numerous years and according to him, had worked nearly every position available with the city.  He later worked as a roofer with Crawford Roofing, for Steve’s Refrigeration and then eventually retired as a Truck Driver.  To say Bobby loved hot rods and motorcycles would be a great understatement, maybe it was more of an obsession since he did have an entire room as a “Harley Shrine”!  He enjoyed anything that pertained to hot rods-building them, admiring their beauty and even racing them…illegally on the old Pampa drag. Bobby could be a bit ornery and sometimes even a pest to his younger siblings, but nonetheless, he was an amazing big brother and protector to them.  He completely adored and loved his grandchildren as he was a very proud grandfather.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Jennifer Michelle Hamby.

The loved ones he has left behind to cherish his memories are his four children, Robert Lynn Cady and wife Rachel of Amarillo, Melissa Caudillo and husband Francisco of Amarillo, James Hamby of Pampa, Brandy Vines and husband Steve of Amarillo; a brother, Raymond Armstrong of Pampa; two sisters, Peggy Ivey and husband David of Pampa, Sissy Mullen and husband Floyd of Amarillo; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer, Makayla, Erika, Bubba, Ryan, Brandy, Colton, Brooklyn, Cason, Saba, Ryleigh, Colin; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Jason Mullen, Ricky Mullen, Chrissy Snell, Josh Mullen, Angel Shipp, Raquel Armstrong, Michael Armstrong, Shawn Armstrong, Skylar Armstrong, Rocky Ivey, Misty Auwen and husband David.

Should you wish to make a donation in memory of Bobby, the family suggests that they be made to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4550 Montgomery Ave. Suite 1100 N, Bethesda, MD 20814.

No services are scheduled at this time.  The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
