Claudetta Addington Laverty of Mobeetie Texas left this temporary home to be with Jesus in her eternal heavenly home at the age of 80 years old.

Claudetta was born October 12, 1942 in Mark Tree Ark to Bessie Addington.  Her family moved to Pampa Texas at a young age, there she went to school at Baker Elem and Pampa Jr high and High school.  Claudetta met the love of her life Richard Aaron Laverty in 1958.  They met on the baseball field (Dad was umpire and Mom was the runner).  They still argue if Claudetta was safe or out.  They went to church together and dated for 2 years before marrying at Calvary Baptist Church in Pampa on July 16, 1960.  Sharing the love for each other for 63 years.  (Jaycee said it best “I want that kinda love when I get old”).  They served in many churches, mission trips and VBS telling and teaching others about the love of Jesus and teaching how to get to heaven.  Aaron and Claudetta had 6 kids:

Richard (Ricky) & wife Karen of Random Canyon Texas

Gordon & wife Barbie of Decatur Texas

Bessie Marie Laverty of Heaven in 1965

Russell & (wife) Kim Laverty of Harrah Oklahoma

Claude & (wife) Misty Laverty of Mobeetie

Caaron of Mobeetie

15 grand kids &  25 great grandkids

Claudetta could make or sew anything for her kids and grandkids, as she did many times.  She loved to make them any and everything.  Claudetta had a strong and forever love for her husband, kids and grandkids.  Always telling some of them how pretty they were and she was always happy to see them.  She would always say “Hi baby” no matter how old you were.  Claudetta could come up with some good ol crazy stories.  She was well known for her stories.  The bond she had for her kids & grandkids was unbreakable they each hold a special place in her heart.  Nanny taught us so much from how to plant, sewing, crafts and cooking.  Just to how to work hard and enjoy it.  Claudetta got to work with many of her kids and grandkids in the Elephant Ear Building for many years teaching us all good work ethics.  Claudetta was preceded in death by the daughter, mother, 3 brothers Lloyd Addington, Jack (Mutt) Addington, Jim Addington 3 sisters Imogene Rea, Jo Ann (Sis) Dixon and Mary Lou Rodgers.  Claudetta was a member of Gageby Church.  Our family was to say a BIG Thank You to our family & friends at the Wheeler Care Center thank you for taking care & loving Momma.  In remembrance of Claudetta, Momma, Nanny drink a Dr Pepper and tell someone about Jesus.  Celebration of life will be September 30, at First Baptist Church of Mobeetie at 11 am.
