George G. Albear, Sr., 72, of Pampa, passed away on November 8, 2023, in Amarillo.

Liturgy of the Word funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Arockiaraj Malapady (Raj), officiating. 

A burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

A rosary will be recited at 5:00 P.M, Monday at the funeral home.

George was born on April 23, 1951, in Paint Rock to Sixto and Rafaela Albear. He grew up and attended school in Eola. 

As a young man, George came to Pampa where he would meet the love of his life, Benita and they married on October 8, 1971, in Pampa. 

They shared over 44 years together and raised six children before she preceded him in death on May 12, 2016.

George found love again when he met Cleofas Torres and they married on January 9, 2022, and they shared a year of companionship before she passed on January 18, 2023.

George had a long career in painting and sandblasting. 

He was self-employed and he owned and operated F & G and then later C & G Painting and Sandblasting. 

George was a vibrant man who like to dance and play music.

He was a giving person who loved to host his family, cooking and providing for them. 

George was a family man who loved his family especially all of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; five brothers; five sisters; and by a grandson, Erik Drake Johnston. George is survived by six children, Sally Lawyer and husband Clint, Angela Rivera and husband Hector, Valeria Johnston and husband Joel, Sixto Albear, Rose Albear, and George Albear, Jr., all of Pampa; a brother, Canuto Albear of Arlington; four sisters, Isidra Carpenter of Amarillo, Maria Molina of Fort Myers, FL, Ernestina Villareal of Pampa, and Irene Estrada of Amarillo; three stepchildren, Robert Torres, Joanna Torres, and David Torres; 16 grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many cousins and other extended family.
