Harl Moore, 85, of Pampa, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023, in McLean.

Services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 31, 2023, at First Baptist Church with James Greer officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 5:00 PM on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the funeral home.

Harl was born on April 30, 1938, in Durango, Colorado to William Thomas and Nora Belle Weddle Moore. He attended school in McLean, Texas, graduating in 1956. Soon after school, he entered the workforce, starting out in the oilfield for a year. He spent the next 40 years as an electrical lineman for Southwest Public Service and Xcel Energy. After his retirement, Harl spent his time as a retired rancher. He loved ranching for the past 20+ years.

On January 31, 1959, Harl married the love of his life, Mauree Miller, in Amarillo. The couple were happily married for 64 years, just one month shy of their 65th anniversary. Harl enjoyed many things in his spare time, including fishing, reading Western novels, watching sports, and spending time at his ranch, which he and his family called “The Place”. 

Harl was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and was a devout Christian man. He was a godly example to his family and read his Bible every day. He also drove the church bus for over 40 years. Harl was a great husband, father, and Pa, and was respected by those that knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Harl is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Taron Lin Moore; two sisters; and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Mauree Moore of the home; son, Cody Moore and wife Lynne; daughter, Mika Potts and husband Troy; grandchildren, Zach Potts and wife Callie, Dylan Potts and wife Krystal, Abby Eakin and husband John, David Moore, and Jordan Moore and wife Brianna; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Moore and wife Barbara; a sister, Willie Mae Foster; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
