Lela “Jo” McIlroy Logue, 75, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023, in Seguin, TX.

Jo was born on September 15, 1948 to George and Martha McIlroy in Wichita Falls, TX. She attended Electra High School and Grand Prairie High School. She married Tommy Lynn Logue December 7, 1965 in Waurika, Oklahoma. They moved to Pampa, Texas in 1978 where they spent most of their 47 years of marriage before retiring to Wichita Falls, Texas in 2007.

In 1969, she received her license in Vocational Nursing, a calling to which she dedicated most of her professional life. She shared her compassion in a variety of practices and clinics, but was most proud of serving the Texas Panhandle community as a Hospice nurse. Jo believed it is never too late to go back to school, and she graduated from West Texas A&M University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies. 

Jo was passionate about traveling, reading, and caring for rescue animals.

Jo is preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Tommy Logue. She is survived by seven children, Lance (Suzanne), Stephani, Cade (Denise), Hollie, Carson, John, and Shayne; five grandchildren, Kylie, Hannah, Delaney, Braxton, and Tyrin; and her two sisters, Margaret Ann Coulon and Jorja Lynn Pool.

There will be no formal memorial service, but the family would love to receive family and friends at visitation November 11, 2023, 10am – 12 pm at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, TX. 

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of your choice.
