Michael Lynn Honeycutt, 70, of Wheeler passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at his home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, December 6th at First Baptist Church in Wheeler with Rev. Larry Mitchell, officiating. Burial will follow in Wheeler Cemetery with military honors. Viewing will be held at the funeral home in Wheeler on Sunday, December 5th from 1:00 – 6:00 PM.

Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.

Michael was born in Wellington, TX on June 9, 1951, to Glenn Honeycutt and Elwanda Sturgill. Michael married Ladona Burrell Honeycutt on October 14, 1972. Former residents of Mclean, Michael and Ladona moved to Wheeler where they could enjoy their time surrounded by family.

Michael made a career of his lifelong passion which was being a mechanic. He retired from National Oilwell in June 2012 after 20 years. He also served his country for 20 years as a member of the army national guard. He could always be found tinkering around in the garage in his spare time. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix.  Michael also deeply loved his kids, grand children and everyone else he was Papa too. His favorite past time was taking all of his babies fishing at his favorite spot, Sand Spur lake.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Glen Honeycutt and Elwanda Sturgill; two brothers, Buster Newman, and Wendill Honeycutt; and one sister, Alice Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Ladona Honeycutt; 3 sons, David Halencak, Heath Honeycutt, and Gavin Honeycutt; two daughters, Heather Bridges, and Kaydense Honeycutt; 2 brothers, Danny Honeycutt, and Terry Honeycutt; 4 sisters, Bonnie Cross, Lafonda Darnall, Glenda Albus, and Sandra Pendergrass; 9 grandchildren, Courtney Honeycutt, Ashtyn Quesada, Chanceton Roberts, Quinlan Doulas, Jade Honeycutt, Emmi Schmitt, Sara Honeycutt, Preston Todd, and Colton Halencak; and 10 great-grandchildren, Raydon Quesada, Tayson Quesada, Lyrix Quesada, Dean Roberts, Amelia Roberts, Logan Roberts, Sterling Todd, Kingston Todd, Roman Todd and Kaz Honeycutt.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pregnancy Support Center and Hope in Pampa, Texas.
