Ronald “Ronnie” D. Elliott, 87, of Pampa, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 in Pampa.
Memorial graveside service will be 11:00 AM Monday, October 16, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Jim Sinyard, pastor of Carpenter’s Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Ronnie was born January 21, 1936 in Pampa to William and Mary Elliott. He was a ’52 and ’53 Harvester graduating in the class of 1954. Ronnie attended Texas Tech before enlisting in the US Navy, where he served faithfully for four years. He participated in Operation Hardtack atomic test in Marshall Islands in 1958. Ronnie was honorably discharged in 1961. He was a truck driver, a warehouse man, and a wanna be cowboy. Ronnie loved music and would dance at any opportunity. On August 21, 1996, he married Clara Mae Jones Hale in Amarillo. She passed away on January 10, 2017.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammie O’Neal of Keller; four grandchildren, Cami O’Neal, Chelsea Sweat and husband Kevin, Chloe O’Neal, and Corbin O’Neal; stepson, Monte Hale and wife Sherry and their children, Holly Altman, Karen Hale and husband Jeremy Furr, and Jason Hale; stepdaughter, Teddi Hale; and five great grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan, Kaylie, Cooper, and Riley.
